Intermediate Tap

1 h
20 US dollars

(ages 15 & up) Tap! Yes! We will are building on the basics. Learning new steps and feeling the freedom of adding sounds to steps we know. We will continue to work on balance and weight transfer, as well as listening to the subtleties of the different rhythms we create. We will begin to use the entire foot, playing with all edges of the taps. Additionally, we will explore more levels with our dancing, working from deep plies to airborne tapping. This class helps refine motor coordination and build neuroplasticity while learning to control tempo and musical phrasing- with our feet! What to wear: No leotard or tights required. Be comfortable. You should be able to move freely without getting tripped up. Yoga style athleisure is just fine. Tap shoes are required (Recommended brands: either Bloch or Capezio). Must have had at least 2 years of tap classes. Recommended donation: $20. This operation is purely donation based. Pay what you want when you want. Learning the subtleties of dance while learning to hear music through movement are priceless, and yet shouldn't be cost prohibitive. Studio rules: 1. No competition (with yourself or others. Nobody is better or worse, we are all just here to learn ballet) 2. No judgment (of yourself or others. This is the body you woke up in today. Nothing is good or bad; we are merely working toward progression) 3. No limitations (on yourself or others. Yes, our bodies have very real limits, but consistent work within those limits acheives greatness) Max: 6 students
