Teens and Tweens Basic Beginner Ballet

1 h
20 US dollars

(ages 11 - 14) Ballet basics from the very beginning. Learn proper ballet technique, a bit of anatomy, a bit of French, and a bit of history, while getting a surprisingly difficult full body workout. What to wear: No leotard or tights required. Be comfortable. You should be able to move freely without getting tripped up. Yoga style athleisure is just fine. Ballet technique shoes (the soft ones) will become necessary, but in the beginning socks are OK. Hair should be off the neck. Recommended donation: $20. This operation is purely donation based. Pay what you want when you want. Learning the subtleties of the art of ballet and learning to hear music through movement are priceless, and yet shouldn't be cost prohibitive. Studio rules: 1. No competition (with yourself or others. Nobody is better or worse, we are all just here to learn ballet) 2. No judgment (of yourself or others. This is the body you woke up in today. Nothing is good or bad; we are merely working toward progression) 3. No limitations (on yourself or others. Yes, our bodies have very real limits, but consistent work within those limits acheives greatness) Max: 6 students See you at the barre!
